Should ‘shock therapy’ be used to treat depression more often?

A recent study has discovered that — contrary to expectation — electroconvulsive therapy may be a better treatment option for many people whose depression has not been eased by other interventions. A new analysis concludes that ECT should be tried sooner for some people with depression.
