The Right to Bear Arts

When I was hospitalized several years ago for severe bipolar depression, I balked when I heard that “art therapy” was going to be one of my required sessions.  Balked is putting it mildly.  I flat out refused to go.  I pictured moccasins and crocheted belts and beaded bracelets and ashtrays.
